A contraindication is a reason for NOT having craniosacral and lymphatic drainage. There are situations where craniosacral and lymphatic drainage are not helpful to you. Those situations may be short term (i.e. you’re experiencing an infection). Sometimes, these modalities are not safe for you at all (incomplete foramen magnum).

Please read all contraindications. If you are unsure, please check with your doctor and ask for your doctor’s approval. There are instances where I may require a written note from your doctor. At your first visit, you will be asked to sign a Waiver of Liability form, that lists all of these contraindications.

Reasons (contraindications) for postponing a session or why a session is not for you:

  1. You have a fever or flu symptoms. You will need to wait 48 hours after fever breaking or last flu symptoms. Having a session while you have a fever or flu symptoms can result in exacerbating your symptoms.

  2. You have tested positive for Covid. You will need to wait 4 days after day of last presenting symptoms.

  3. You have an infection. You will need to have ingested antibiotics for at least 48 hours. Having a session with an untreated infection can cause your infection to spread.

  4. Cosmetic Injectables, - you need to wait 14 days after a cosmetic injectable. It’s recommended that you ask the person who performed the injection as to the number of days they suggest in waiting.

  13. Arnold Chiari Malformation - incomplete foramen magnum
